Our wind energy team delivers the heavy lift work behind wind farm construction across Australia, from tower and nacelle lifts to blade installation, using some of the largest crawler cranes in the industry.

The role

We're looking for a Heavy Lift Supervisor to join our wind farm team on a casual basis, with genuine potential to move into an ongoing position for the right person. You'll supervise heavy lift operations on site, keeping wind turbine generator (WTG) component lifts safe, on schedule, and to Sarens' standard. A current Statutory Supervisor's Certificate (S26) is essential.

What you'll be doing

• Supervising heavy lift and rigging operations for WTG components (tower sections, nacelle, hub, blades), holding statutory responsibility under your S26 certificate

• Coordinating crawler crane crews and riggers through complex, sequenced wind farm lifts

• Running pre-starts, toolbox talks, and JSAs/SWMS before work begins

• Monitoring compliance with SHEQ requirements and Sarens policy on every lift

• Liaising with the principal contractor, site management, and project engineers

• Managing the risks that come with tall lifts, tight tolerances, and remote site conditions

What you'll bring

• A current Statutory Supervisor's Certificate (S26), non-negotiable

• Proven experience supervising heavy lift or crane operations, wind farm experience highly regarded

• Solid working knowledge of relevant safety legislation

• The ability to lead a crew through a complex lift, not just talk about it

• Relevant rigging or crane tickets are well regarded

• Willingness to work on a remote or regional site

• A safety-first mindset: yes when it can be done safely, no when it can't
