2nd Class Welder - Fireplace Manufacturing

About the role

Kemlan Industries is seeking a skilled 2nd Class Welder to join our fireplace manufacturing team in Brendale, Queensland. This is a full-time position that plays a crucial role in our production operations, contributing directly to the quality and durability of our premium fireplace products. As a 2nd Class Welder, you will be responsible for executing precision welding work on various fireplace components, ensuring that each product meets our exacting standards for safety, aesthetics and functionality. This role is essential to maintaining our reputation for excellence in the fireplace manufacturing industry.

Key responsibilities

• Perform welding operations on fireplace components using various welding techniques including MIG, and TIG.

• Read and interpret technical drawings and specifications to ensure accurate welding of complex fireplace assemblies

• Inspect welded joints for quality, durability and compliance with industry standards and company specifications

• Prepare materials and components for welding, including cleaning, positioning and securing workpieces

• Maintain welding equipment in good working order and report any maintenance issues promptly

• Adhere to all health and safety protocols, including the use of personal protective equipment and safe handling of materials

• Collaborate with production team members to meet production schedules and quality targets

• Identify and rectify welding defects and work with supervisors to implement corrective actions

What we're looking for

• Valid 2nd Class Welding Certification or equivalent qualification recognised in Australia

• Demonstrated experience in welding operations, preferably within manufacturing or fabrication environments

• Competency in multiple welding processes, including MIG, TIG and stick welding techniques

• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and welding specifications accurately

• Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work

• Experience working with steel and other ferrous metals

• Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team

• Reliability and punctuality, with a strong work ethic

• Knowledge of workplace health and safety regulations and best practices

• Preferably, previous experience in fireplace manufacturing or similar precision metal fabrication work
