Part-Time Venue Manager – Brookvale

$65,000 + Super | Four-Day Working Week

Kiss My Axe is looking for a hands-on Part-Time Venue Manager to lead the day-to-day operations of our Brookvale venue.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced hospitality or entertainment supervisor who is ready to take ownership of a venue. You’ll lead the team, maintain high operational standards and make sure every customer has an outstanding experience.

Kiss My Axe is one of Sydney’s leading axe-throwing experiences, hosting birthday parties, corporate events, bucks and hens parties, date nights and group celebrations.

You don’t need axe-throwing experience—full training will be provided. What matters most is your ability to lead a team, solve problems, maintain high standards and deliver exceptional hospitality.

About the role

As Venue Manager, you’ll be responsible for the successful day-to-day running of the Brookvale venue. This is a hands-on role combining team leadership, customer service, venue presentation and operational management.

The position is approximately 32 hours across four days per week. We offer flexibility in how the roster is structured, depending on the successful candidate’s availability and the needs of the venue.

An example roster could be:

• Thursday: 4:00 pm–9:00 pm

• Friday: 4:00 pm–9:00 pm

• Saturday: 12:00 pm–9:00 pm

• Sunday: 12:00 pm–8:00 pm

This is an example only, and the final roster can be discussed with the successful candidate.

Key responsibilities

• Lead, motivate and support the Brookvale team

• Deliver an outstanding experience for every customer

• Ensure the venue is fully prepared for daily bookings and events

• Monitor bookings and prepare staff rosters

• Delegate tasks and manage staff performance

• Recruit, onboard and train new team members

• Coach staff and maintain high service standards

• Respond professionally to customer enquiries and resolve issues

• Maintain a clean, organised and safe venue

• Implement and monitor operational and safety procedures

• Manage stock ordering, stock levels and cost controls

• Maintain back-of-house areas to a high standard

• Complete weekly revenue and operational reporting

• Identify opportunities to improve the venue’s performance

About you

You will ideally have:

• Experience supervising or managing a hospitality, entertainment or customer-facing venue

• Demonstrated experience leading and motivating a team

• Strong customer service and communication skills

• High standards and excellent attention to detail

• The confidence to take ownership and make decisions

• Good organisation and problem-solving skills

• Availability to work evenings and weekends

• A current RSA certificate, or willingness to obtain one

• A current First Aid certificate, or willingness to obtain one
