About the Role:

As a key member of our clinical team, you will play an important role in ensuring a smooth, high-quality patient experience. This role is ideal for a Dental Assistant who is confident, organised, and passionate about progressing in their career within a collaborative and forward-thinking practice. This role is based primarily at South Yarra, with occasional coverage required at our sister clinic, Hawthorn Orthodontics.

Primary location: South Yarra - your main clinic (just minutes from the train station)

About You:

We are looking for someone who brings both experience and enthusiasm to the role. The ideal candidate will have:

• Certificate III or IV in Dental Assisting (highly regarded)

• You're great at building rapport with both children and adults

• You have experience looking after patients on the phone and in person

• Attention to detail and excellent written and verbal communication

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team

• A reliable, punctual, and proactive approach to work

Key Responsibilities

• Educating patients on orthodontic treatments, procedures, and aftercare instructions.

• Provide chairside assistance to our orthodontist and oral health therapists (including note-taking and providing instructions to patients).

• Coordinating with orthodontic assistants and other staff members to ensure smooth patient flow.

• Maintain established infection control standards in the clinical setting and throughout the entire dental clinic.

• Maintain dental equipment, consumables and supplies in the dental surgery.

• Undertake equipment decontamination and sterilisation to the highest standards

• Update treatment card notes

The Finer Details:

• Currently we are looking to hire on a part time basis- 2 days per week (Monday and Thursday).

• 8.00am until 5.15pm with a paid 10 minute morning tea break, and a 1 hour lunch break

• Salary: Negotiable based on skills and experience

• Immediate start available
