Brazilian Portuguese Localisation Assistant

Role Description

We're looking for a native Brazilian Portuguese speaker who is fluent in English to help localise Origami's games, website, product content, and supporting materials for Brazil and other regulated markets.

You'll work closely with product, design, engineering, and commercial teams to make sure our content feels natural, clear, accurate, and culturally appropriate for Brazilian players and partners. You'll also help us build the language and market understanding we need as Origami grows internationally.

This is a paid, casual role based in Melbourne. Melbourne-based candidates are strongly preferred, and you should be comfortable spending regular time in our office working directly with the team. We can be flexible around study or other commitments, but this is not a fully remote role.

Students, recent graduates, and early-career candidates are very welcome. Excellent language instincts, curiosity, and care for detail matter more to us than a long formal translation background.

Responsibilities

• Translate and adapt in-game copy, buttons, instructions, error messages, help content, and promotional language into natural Brazilian Portuguese.

• Localise website pages, landing pages, product materials, presentations, documentation, and partner-facing content.

• Review translations for tone, clarity, consistency, cultural fit, and Brazilian Portuguese usage.

• Maintain a practical glossary for recurring game, betting, payments, and product terms.

• Consider UI constraints such as short strings, placeholders, character limits, currencies, and mobile layouts.

• Review localised games and websites to catch copy, layout, or language issues before release.

• Work with product, design, engineering, and commercial teams to resolve questions and keep work moving.

• Flag terminology or market-language questions as Origami enters regulated markets.

Qualifications

• Brazilian Portuguese is your native language.

• Fluent written and spoken English.

• Strong writing, editing, and proofreading skills in Brazilian Portuguese.

• Able to translate meaning, tone, and intent rather than translating word-for-word.

• Careful and detail-oriented, with good judgement about language and cultural nuance.

• Comfortable working in person with a small, fast-moving team.

• Interest in games, digital products, UX writing, iGaming, fintech, or localisation.

• Students, recent graduates, and candidates without formal industry experience are encouraged to apply.

• Experience with localisation, translation tools, UX writing, content QA, or regulated industries is a bonus, but not required.
