Role

The role of Claims Automation Developer, Underwriting & Claims Solutions, Protection, Australia is to support key and claims related activities within the Underwriting and Claims Solutions team in the Australia region.

As a Claims Automation Developer, you will be working closely with the AVP, Underwriting & Claims Solutions, Protection, Australia to develop and implement an underwriting and claims proposition that meets both client needs as well as being consistent with PL Re’s strategic focus.

Additionally, as a Claims Automation Developer, you will be expected to assist with the management of a portfolio of insurance and UnderwriteMe partner clients.

Essential Qualifications & Expertise

• Certificate IV in Life Insurance (or equivalent industry experience) required. Degree qualified preferred
• Proven experience working in a life and disability claims environment within an Australian insurance or reinsurance business, including experience at a senior level where relevant.
• Demonstrated Australian market experience is essential, including familiarity with Australian life insurance products, claims practices and industry requirements.
• Experience handling major Australian life insurance products, including Life cover, Total and Permanent Disablement, Critical Illness and Income Protection.
• Detailed understanding of Australian life insurance business, claims processes, and regulatory requirements, including LICOP
• Strong analytical skills and interest in systems and technology.
• Advanced Excel skills (macros, complex reporting) or coding/programming experience preferred
• High proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook, or similar business tools.
