Role purpose

The IELTS Examiner ensures impartial, expert assessment of candidates in the Speaking module of the test to deliver a uniform and consistent test at all times.

The role supports our operations at Sydney

Shift: 1 to 2 shifts in a week (Weekday and / or weekend)

Key accountabilities

Satisfactory completion of training led by the Test Centre’s Examiner Trainer Examine regularly at testing sessions (at least once a month) Undertake scheduled re-training and re-certification when required Maintain confidentiality and security in all aspects of the IELTS Comply with all elements of the Examiner Code of Practice, IELTS Confidentiality, Undertaking (to be signed by all examiners), and Peer Support Network (PSN)

Required Experience

Essential Requirements

An undergraduate or Master’s degreeRecognised TESOL qualification, minimum Certificate IVMinimum 3 years ESL teaching experience to adult learnersPersonal attributes that indicate suitability as an examinerMinimum Professional Requirements as set out in MPRsCommitment to attend regularly scheduled testing sessionsUnderstanding and commitment to maintaining appropriate standards of confidentiality and security of materials Adhering to IELTS policies and proceduresAbility to work independentlyUnderstanding of criteria and protocol related to assessment and test administrationAbility to keep calm under pressure or during unexpected circumstancesDemonstrated interpersonal communication skillsAvailability to work on Saturdays
