HSE Advisor – Solar Project

Location: Approx. 45 minutes from Canberra, ACT
Hours: Monday–Friday, 7:00am–5:00pm + Saturday, 8:00am–2:00pm
Start: ASAP

We are currently seeking an experienced HSE Advisor to join a major solar construction project located approximately 45 minutes from Canberra.
This is an excellent opportunity for an HSE professional looking for a long-term project role with the opportunity to work as part of a professional construction team and play a key role in maintaining high safety standards across site operations.

The Role As the HSE Advisor, you will provide hands-on health, safety and environmental support across the solar project, working closely with site management, supervisors, contractors and the workforce.

Key responsibilities include:

• Providing day-to-day HSE advice and support to site operations.
• Conducting site inspections, audits, risk assessments and safety observations.
• Supporting the implementation and maintenance of HSE systems and procedures.
• Reviewing SWMS, JHAs and other safety documentation.
• Leading and assisting with incident investigations and corrective actions.
• Delivering site inductions, toolbox talks and safety training.
• Monitoring contractor compliance and safe work practices.
• Identifying hazards and implementing effective risk controls.
• Maintaining accurate HSE records and reporting.
• Promoting a positive safety culture across the project.

About You

We are looking for an HSE professional who is hands-on, practical and confident working in a construction environment.

Ideally, you will have:

• Previous HSE experience within construction, civil, infrastructure, renewables or similar environments.
• Relevant HSE qualifications.
• Strong knowledge of Australian WHS legislation and construction safety requirements.
• Experience conducting inspections, risk assessments and incident investigations.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
• The ability to work independently while also being part of a site-based team.
• Construction White Card.
• Current driver's licence.

Solar, renewable energy, electrical or high-voltage construction experience would be highly regarded.

Project & Location

The project is located approximately 45 minutes from Canberra.

We are particularly interested in candidates who are:

• Canberra-based or living in surrounding areas and able to commute.
• Willing to relocate to the area and remain on the project for its duration.

Accommodation will be provided for suitable candidates who relocate for the project.

Working Hours

• Monday–Friday: 7:00am–5:00pm
• Saturday: 8:00am–2:00pm
• Sunday: Off
