The Application Analyst provides technical guidance and mentoring to Application Support Analysts and partners closely with business stakeholders, vendors and the wider IT team to ensure applications are reliable, secure and aligned to business needs.
Your responsibilities will include but not limited to:
·Working autonomously, exercising sound judgement on complex application issues and guide others in the team
·Owning the support, configuration and continuous improvement of an assigned portfolio of business applications
·Determining resolution approaches for complex incidents and problems, escalating only where genuinely required
·Advising business stakeholders and vendors on application options, impacts and implementation considerations
You will:
·Provide technical guidance, coaching and quality review to Application Support Analysts
·Provide senior-level (2nd and 3rd line) support for enterprise applications, ensuring availability, performance and reliability
·Own assigned applications across their lifecycle, including configuration, administration, upgrades and decommissioning
·Maintain and improve application support processes, procedures and documentation, incorporating security considerations
·Advise on application security, licensing, upgrades, backups and disaster recovery needs
·Lead diagnosis and resolution of complex incidents, coordinating stakeholders to restore service within SLAs
·Assess, develop, document and implement changes through the change control process with minimal disruption
·Plan and coordinate application releases and deployments across teams, ensuring quality, security and compliance
·Lead testing, quality assurance and post-release reviews, identifying and resolving issues
·Manage application enhancements and configuration changes to improve business performance
·Analyse business and application processes to identify opportunities for improvement, automation and optimisation
·Design and recommend practical solutions and future-state processes aligned to business objectives
·Translate business requirements into clear functional specifications to guide solution design and delivery
·Provide subject-matter expertise to projects and initiatives affecting supported applications
·Maintain user access, permissions and role-based access controls in line with policy
·Monitor and address application security vulnerabilities and support audits, risk assessments and compliance reporting
·Maintain data integrity through access controls, backup and recovery practices
·Provide technical mentoring, knowledge sharing and quality review to Application Support Analysts, building team capability
About you?
We are looking for someone with:
·Extensive experience in application support, systems analysis or a related role, including senior or lead responsibility for business-critical applications.
·Demonstrated experience owning applications across their lifecycle (support, configuration, enhancement, upgrade and integration).
·Proven experience leading complex incident and problem resolution and coordinating with vendors and technical teams.
·Experience mentoring or providing technical guidance to junior support analysts.
·Exposure to application integrations, APIs, data migrations and cloud-based platforms.
·Construction industry or ERP / finance and project systems experience highly desirable.
·Experience with HubSpot or other cloud based CRM highly desirable.
·Strong understanding of ITIL service management principles (incident, problem, change, release and configuration management).
·Solid knowledge of database structures, SQL queries and reporting tools.
·Understanding of application security, role-based access control (RBAC) and data privacy / compliance.
·Working knowledge of integrations, APIs, networking, cloud services and IT infrastructure.
·Familiarity with automation tools and techniques to streamline application processes.
·Awareness of AI tools and their responsible application to support and analysis work.
·Analytical and detail-oriented with strong, structured troubleshooting skills.
·Proactive, resourceful and able to work autonomously on complex issues.
·Strong communicator, able to translate between business and technical audiences.
·Calm under pressure, able to manage multiple priorities and competing demands.
·Collaborative leader who shares knowledge and lifts the capability of the team.
·Continuous learner with a strong improvement and automation mindset.
