About the Role

As Junior Sous Chef, you’ll play a key role in supporting the Head Chef and Sous Chef in leading the kitchen team, maintaining standards, and ensuring smooth day-to-day operations. You’ll be hands-on in service while developing your leadership capability.

Key responsibilities include:

• Supporting kitchen leadership to deliver consistent, high-quality food across all services

• Leading sections during service and stepping up to run shifts when required

• Assisting with stock control, ordering, and minimising waste

• Training, mentoring, and supporting junior team members

• Maintaining food safety, hygiene, and compliance standards

• Contributing to menu execution and continuous improvement of kitchen operations

• Driving a positive, team-focused kitchen culture in a high-volume environment

About You

You’re a confident and capable chef who is ready to take the next step into leadership. You still have a strong desire to learn and develop, but you’re also comfortable taking ownership and supporting the wider team.

We’re looking for someone with:

• Proven experience as a Chef de Partie or Jr Sous Chef in a busy kitchen

• Strong technical cooking skills and consistency across sections

• A proactive attitude with the confidence to lead and make decisions

• Solid understanding of food safety and kitchen operations

• Ability to perform under pressure in a fast-paced, high-volume environment

• Strong communication skills and a team-first mindset

• Flexibility to work across a 7-day roster, including nights and weekends
