About the role
Bayside Health
Bayside Health is a public health service delivering high-quality care across every stage of life for close to 1.2 million people living in metropolitan Melbourne, the Mornington Peninsula, Koo Wee Rup, Bass Coast and Southern Gippsland. We have more than 15 main sites, including hospitals, centres and clinics that provide comprehensive care from welcoming newborns to supporting older people and a full range of services in between. More than 22,000 dedicated staff are focused on providing exceptional, equitable, and locally connected care through shared expertise, compassion, and a commitment to continuous growth. Education and training are central to staff development as we encourage all employees to strive and thrive. Bayside Health was formed following the merger of Alfred Health, Bass Coast Health, Gippsland Southern Health Service, Kooweerup Regional Health Service and Peninsula Health on 1 January 2026.
The Department
The Emergency, Virtual care and Outpatients (EVO) Program is responsible for the delivery of emergency and paediatric clinical services across Bayside Health (Alfred), as well as several other clinical support services.
The EVO Program is responsible for several additional services that support the delivery of clinical care. These include GP Liaison Service, Health Information Service, Virtual Services, Specialist Clinics Support Unit and the Operations Support Unit.
The Outpatients Program is responsible for the overall delivery of a number of non-admitted or ambulatory services across the organisation, including Specialist Consulting Clinics, GP Liaison and Specialist Clinic referrals and enquiries. The largest component of these are the Specialist Consulting Clinics which provide scheduled medical, nursing and allied health services to non-admitted patients at all three campuses.
These services include pre and post hospital admission and management of medical conditions, including chronic disease and complex health problems. These services are provided in-conjunction with diagnostic services such as pathology and imaging.
Patients are referred to outpatient services from a range of providers, including general practitioners (GPs), Specialists and clinicians in Emergency Departments, inpatient units and other areas of Bayside Health.
The Role
The Operations Administrative Coordinator within the Emergency, Virtual Care and Outpatient Program (EVO), is responsible for supporting operations and coordination of centralised inpatient and outpatient administrative teams. This includes leading and supporting the Referral-in, telehealth, patient portal, administrative casual pool, and senior ward clerks, with a focus on referral intake, appointment scheduling, enquiry management, telehealth services and inpatient administrative workflows.
The Operations Administrative Coordinator will also support recruitment for administrative staff as well as training provided by the outpatient reporting team. Close working relationships with the clinical programs across all sites are essential to ensure these requirements are fulfilled. The Referral-in team, casual administrative pool and senior ward clerks report to the Operations Administrative Coordinator.
This position reports to the Operations Manager, Outpatient Program.
