Scarborough Harbour Brewing Co is a relaxed waterfront venue serving great beer and honest, consistent food. We're not chasing hats or stars — we just want to serve quality food our customers love, in a workplace that feels good to be in.

We're expanding our small kitchen team and are looking for:

Chef/Cook (Full-Time)

We're looking for an experienced Chef/Cook (minimum 5 years in a similar role) keen for collaboration with our current amazing kitchen staff — no ego. Our kitchen works best when everyone pulls together, respects each other, and enjoys what they do. This role suits someone who's been temping and wants something more consistent — or a solid all-rounder who enjoys working in a supportive team.

What we're looking for:

● Easy-going personality and a "one team" attitude

● Strong communication skills

● Commitment to maintaining a positive, supportive culture. Great culture attracts great recruits.

● Pub/Bistro cuisine experience preferred

What we don't want: Old-school, bossy, or bullying chefs. We have zero tolerance for that. We're just as focused on creating a culture staff want to be a part of.

You'll need:

● Relevant kitchen experience

● Minimum 5 years of kitchen experience required

● Common sense, initiative, and reliability

● A team-first attitude — willing to jump in wherever needed (yes, even dishes sometimes!)

● A friendly approach that fits with both the kitchen and front-of-house crew

What you'll be doing

• Preparing and cooking high-quality dishes to our exacting standards

• Ensuring consistency and presentation of all menu items

• Maintaining a clean and organised kitchen environment

• Establishing a good relationship with staff from other areas of the business & work as a team

• Creating & upholding a positive team environment

• Providing a positive team culture

• Adhering to all food safety and health regulations

• Current food safety certification required

Scarborough Harbour Brewing Co is a small but ambitious venue overlooking the beautiful Scarborough Harbour. We're a brewery first and foremost, so our food is casual, approachable, and designed to complement our beers.

We're proud of the culture we've built — kind people, calm energy, and no drama. If that sounds like your kind of kitchen, we'd love to meet you.

Our venue is open 5 days a week Wednesday - Sunday. Staff food & beverage discounts. 40hr work week over 5 days to suit the business needs for Fulltime.
