About the Role
The Traffic Warden / Facilities Assistant is responsible for ensuring the safe and efficient movement of students, adults, and vehicles on the School Grounds during the main drop off and collection times. They will also be required to assist with various tasks around the School.
The primary purpose of this role is to ensure the safe and efficient movement of students, staff, visitors, and vehicles during peak school traffic periods, while also providing general facilities support across the School.
We are seeking a pool of reliable and enthusiastic Traffic Warden / Facilities Assistants to join our team. This is a casual role and is required during term time only. You would be working 2 hours per shift (8am–10am).
This role is term time only role.
Traffic Management Duties (core role)
Ensure the safe movement of students, adults, and vehicles on the School Grounds during the main drop off and collection times
Direct vehicles and drivers clearly, confidently, and respectfully to ensure compliance with School traffic procedures
There may be opportunities to work additional hours for special events, such as Orientation Days and new Student Welcome Days, which will be mutually agreed in advance, if required
Facilities Support Duties
Safety checks on School vehicles
Delivering paper supplies to photocopy/printing areas
Managing recycling and waste collection points
Maintaining the cleanliness and presentation of school grounds
Moving furniture or assisting with room set-ups
Delivering parcels, resources, or equipment across campus
Checking shared spaces (staff rooms, common areas) are tidy and stocked
Additional Duties
General administrative and operational support tasks as required
Assisting, on an ad hoc basis, with parking signage set-up
Skills/Requirements
Awareness of the Schools traffic and associated policies
Knowledge of normal road rules and ability to respond promptly and calmly to avert danger
Ability to remain calm and make sound decisions in busy or potentially unsafe situations
Strong situational awareness and ability to anticipate and prevent potential hazards
Preparedness and ability to work in all weather conditions
Ability to demonstrate positive support for the School’s Anglican ethos
