Our highly trained dogs and specialist services support people living with low vision, blindness, disability, PTSD and other complex needs to build independence, capability, and confidence. About the Role Reporting to the GM - Marketing and Communications, the Events Manager is responsible for bringing the Guide Dogs Victoria work to life through engaging, professionally designed and expertly delivered events that support client programs, fundraising, community engagement, and organisational objectives. About You Experience: At least five years’ experience conceptualising, planning and delivering events, community engagement initiatives or related programs.Qualifications: Certificate IV qualification in Event Management, Marketing, Communications, Public Relations or another relevant discipline, or equivalent demonstrated experience.Passion for Purpose: A deep alignment with Guide Dogs Victoria’s mission and values.Leadership: Passionate about leading teams to create exceptional events.
Key Skills & Experience you will bring: Strong project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple events, competing priorities, timelines and budgets simultaneously. Exceptional attention-to-detail, ensuring every aspect of an event is carefully planned and delivered to a high standard. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the confidence to engage with a diverse range of people and build strong working relationships. Budget management experience, including developing event budgets, monitoring expenditure and ensuring events deliver value for money. Experience managing suppliers and contractors, including sourcing, negotiating and coordinating external providers. Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to remain calm under pressure, particularly when managing live events and unexpected issues. Strong digital literacy, including confidence using event management, CRM, project management and Microsoft Office platforms. A strong understanding of accessibility and inclusive event practices, ensuring events are welcoming and accessible to all participants. A genuine alignment with Guide Dogs Victoria's purpose and values, with a passion for creating meaningful experiences that contribute to positive outcomes for our clients and community.
