Platform Manager

We're looking for a senior Technical Platform Manager to support our Data Platform team, with a strong focus on Databricks platform optimisation and cost management.
The ideal candidate should have deep experience with Databricks and cloud data platforms, with a proven track record of driving platform efficiency, governance, and cost optimisation initiatives. This role will work closely with both internal stakeholders and external partners to identify, prioritise, and deliver optimisation opportunities across the platform.
Key responsibilities would include:
Leading the platform cost optimisation agenda across Databricks and associated cloud services.Working collaboratively with engineering, architecture, operations, and business teams to identify and implement optimisation opportunities.Establishing and tracking optimisation roadmaps, savings targets, and outcomes.Providing leadership and direction to a team of engineers focused on platform performance, efficiency, and cost management.Driving adoption of best practices across compute, storage, serverless, governance, and operational processes.Engaging with vendors and platform providers to leverage new capabilities and optimisation opportunities.
We're looking for someone who can operate at both a strategic and hands on level, with strong stakeholder management skills and the ability to influence outcomes across a complex environment.
