Customer Care & Maintenance Coordinator

About the Role
Regent Homes is looking for a proactive and practical Home Care Coordinator to manage the post-handover experience for our new home customers. This role is ideally suited to someone from a residential trade or construction background who is ready to come off the tools, while still enjoying hands-on work.
Reporting to the Construction Manager, you'll be the key point of contact for customers following handover, coordinating maintenance and defects while also personally rectifying minor items that are too small to warrant bringing a trade back to site.
The role is approximately 50% administration and coordination and 50% hands-on maintenance and minor defect rectification. One day you may be speaking with a homeowner, scheduling a contractor and updating records; the next you may be on site adjusting a door, completing a minor patch or repair, or resolving another small defect yourself. It offers the opportunity to step away from full-time tools while still using your practical skills and construction knowledge every day.
 
Key Responsibilities

• Be the primary point of contact for customers following handover
• Coordinate maintenance, warranty and defect matters through to completion, engaging trades where required
• Complete minor maintenance, repairs and defect rectification where the work is too small to warrant bringing a trade back to site
• Provide customers with clear and timely progress updates
• Liaise with trades, subcontractors and suppliers to coordinate larger or specialist works
• Assist with new home handovers and ensure identified defects are addressed promptly
• Conduct post-completion new home inspections and identify items that can be rectified directly
• Monitor maintenance costs and work with suppliers and contractors to resolve quality issues
• Identify recurring maintenance trends and maintain accurate maintenance, customer satisfaction and WH&S records
• Ensure all hands-on and coordinated work is completed safely and in accordance with company standards, Australian Standards and relevant Building Code requirements

About You
You'll be someone who enjoys practical problem-solving, takes pride in quality workmanship and is comfortable dealing directly with customers. This could be a great next step for an experienced tradesperson who wants to come off the tools full-time without moving into a completely desk-based role.
Ideally, you'll bring:

• Experience in a residential trade, construction, maintenance, warranty, supervision or a similar role
• Strong practical skills and the confidence to complete a broad range of minor repairs and defect rectification
• A sound understanding of residential building, construction workmanship and common post-handover defects
• Strong customer service and communication skills
• Confidence coordinating trades, suppliers and contractors when specialist work is required
• A proactive, accountable and solutions-focused approach
• Strong organisation and follow-through, with the ability to balance site work and administration
• The ability to work autonomously and manage competing priorities
• An understanding of relevant Australian Standards and Building Code requirements, with a strong commitment to quality and WH&S
