Title: Technical Lead - Mobile (React Native)

Location: Sydney, Australia

Type: Full Time - Hybrid

What You Will Get to Do:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Mobile Technical Lead to lead our mobile team and drive the implementation of engineering best practice across mobile applications. This role provides technical leadership to a team of mobile software development engineers, and is responsible for the end-to-end delivery of large-scale mobile application development projects on our digital platform.

• Lead and mentor a team of mobile software development engineers, fostering a collaborative and innovative work environment
• Provide technical guidance and support to the engineers, ensuring the successful delivery of projects
• Oversee the end-to-end development of mobile applications, ensuring high-quality, scalable, and robust solutions
• Develop and execute technical strategies aligned with business objectives for the mobile apps
• Evaluate and recommend technology stack, tools, and frameworks to enhance development efficiency and product quality
• Assess other systems across the organization as appropriate and recommend integrations, considering the latest advancements in mobile and AI technologies
• Stay abreast of industry trends and emerging technologies to guide the team in adopting best practices
• Role model and drive participation in internal, and where relevant external, online and face to face discussions around software engineering, solution delivery, and relevant technologies through contributions such as blog posts and knowledge based articles
• Manage project timelines, resources, and deliverables to ensure successful and timely project completion
• Work closely with cross-functional teams to align technical solutions with business requirements
• Keep stakeholders updated on progress of projects
• Understand the compliance obligations of the role and ensure that there are controls to meet them, raising any concerns related to poor compliance or risk management

What You Will Bring:

·        Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Computer Science, or equivalent industry experience

·        5+ years' experience in app development in mobile or cross platform tech

·        At least 2 years in technical leadership roles

·        Strong leadership and team management skills with a track record of successful project delivery

·        Strong technical skills and experience with React Native, Typescript, Javascript, Software Engineering principles, Test Automation Frameworks, Expo,

·        Knowledge/experience with other programming languages such as Swift, Kotlin, Objective C, Java and others relevant to mobile and AI development will be highly desirable

·        Experience with cloud platforms and services, such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud

·        Knowledge of mobile security best practices

·        Previous experience in agile development methodologies

·        Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to convey technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders

·        Ability to understand requirements and conceptualize solutions

·        Contributions to open-source projects or a strong online presence in the tech community

·        Demonstrated expertise in AI technologies, including knowledge of machine learning and natural language processing will be highly regarded but not mandatory
