About This Role

Your new role:

As the Clinical Nurse Consultant – Suicide Prevention, you will provide advanced clinical leadership and specialist consultancy to strengthen suicide prevention and intervention practices across Metro South Addiction and Mental Health Services (MSAMHS).

Lead the implementation of the Zero Suicide in Healthcare Framework across MSAMHS, including the planning and coordination of suicide prevention and intervention strategies, quality improvement activities, data review and evaluation.Lead the development, delivery and evaluation of education and training in suicide prevention, working across multiple professions, services and facilities and promoting evidence-based practice and research.Provide advanced clinical expertise and consultancy in mental health, addiction and suicide prevention, supporting clinical teams to deliver safe, high-quality, person-centred care and strengthening systems in response to self-harm, suicidal ideation, suicide attempts and post-intervention.Build strong partnerships across multidisciplinary teams and with internal and external stakeholders, including other health services, government and non-government organisations, consumers, families and carers, to drive coordinated and sustainable suicide prevention initiatives.

About You

Advanced knowledge and experience in mental health, addiction and/or suicide prevention.Strong clinical leadership, communication and decision-making skills.A commitment to evidence-based practice, education and continuous improvement.A collaborative, person-centred approach with empathy, integrity and respect.
