Counsellor / Mental Health Clinician

About the role

Reravel is a small, neuroqueer-affirming practice based in North Lakes, led by experienced clinicians. We provide counselling, occupational therapy, and peer support groups to trans, queer, and neurodivergent individuals both in-person and via telehealth across Australia. Our entire team identifies as queer and neurodivergent, bringing rich lived experience as parents and carers.

We are seeking an exceptional, values-driven counsellor or mental health clinician ready to build a rewarding private practice career, or an established practitioner looking to leave behind the administrative burden and hustle of self-employment.

In this role, you will provide therapy to neurodivergent, trans, and queer clients (adults and young people), with space to design and lead groups or special projects you are passionate about. You will operate from our custom-designed, beautifully appointed rooms in North Lakes, QLD, with the flexibility to incorporate telehealth work-from-home days as your client base expands.

We do not expect a fully booked schedule on day one, nor do we enforce unsustainable KPIs. Instead, you will be supported to grow your caseload at a healthy pace, backed by regular clinical supervision and guidance.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver individual counselling and mental health therapy to neurodivergent, trans, and queer teens, adults, and their support networks.

• Manage client cases across diverse funding streams, including Medicare, NDIS, and private fee-for-service.

• Deliver services in-person at our North Lakes clinic and remotely via telehealth.

• Engage actively in regular, dedicated 1:1 clinical supervision with the practice owner.

About you

• Professional Registration: Hold full AHPRA registration as a Psychologist or Occupational Therapist (with Mental Health endorsement), AASW Accredited Mental Health Social Worker status, or PACFA Clinical / ACA (Level 3 or 4) registration eligible for private health fund rebates.

• Clearances: Hold (or be eligible to obtain) a current Working with Children Check (Blue Card) and NDIS Worker Screening Clearance.

• Neuroqueer-Affirming Practice: Possess a deep, lived-or-aligned understanding of the neuroqueer experience, practicing from a genuinely neurodiversity-affirming perspective.

• Gender Affirming Framework: Demonstrate a strong commitment to supporting trans and gender-diverse clients grounded in self-determination, gender euphoria, and non-pathologising care.

• Clinical Depth: Skilled in supporting clients navigating complex trauma, disability, chronic illness, intersectionality, and systemic/family dynamics.

• Mindset: Highly reflective, curious, person-centred, and receptive to constructive feedback.
