Assistant Cleaning Services Manager

We’re looking for someone who wants to become the right-hand person to our Cleaning Services Manager, learning how to run a premium, multi-site cleaning operation while playing a hands-on role in delivering exceptional standards across every club.

This role is designed as a genuine career progression opportunity.

Most of the time you’ll be working in our clubs, leading by example and maintaining our premium cleanliness standards. But whenever the Cleaning Services Manager is on leave, unavailable, or requires additional operational support, you’ll step into their role and assume responsibility for the entire cleaning operation.

As XtraClubs continues to expand, this position provides a clear pathway into operations leadership.

A role built around evenings and nights

This isn’t a traditional 9-to-5 position.

Because our clubs operate throughout the day, the majority of your work will take place in the evenings and overnight, after our clubs have closed to members.

You’ll have the clubs to yourself, allowing you to focus on delivering an exceptional standard of cleanliness without members around.

If you enjoy working independently, prefer quieter environments, or simply like having your days free, this role offers a lifestyle that many people genuinely enjoy.

While your regular schedule will primarily be at night, there will occasionally be daytime work when you’re:

• Covering for the Cleaning Services Manager

• Training new team members

• Conducting inspections

• Attending team meetings

• Supporting operational projects across the business

Your role

Premium Cleaner (your primary responsibility)

Your primary responsibility is ensuring every XtraClubs location is presented to the highest possible standard. Most of your time will be spent working hands-on in our clubs, delivering the premium cleanliness our members expect.

You’ll be responsible for:

• Completing daily and deep cleaning tasks

• Maintaining exceptional presentation standards

• Identifying issues before members notice them

• Following detailed cleaning systems and procedures

• Supporting your fellow cleaners

• Setting the benchmark for quality and attention to detail

You won’t simply clean—you’ll help define what “exceptional” looks like.

Supporting the Cleaning Services Manager

Alongside your hands-on cleaning responsibilities, you’ll work as the right-hand person to our Cleaning Services Manager, helping ensure our Cleaning Services department operates smoothly across every location.

You’ll progressively take on responsibilities including:

• Coordinating cleaning teams across multiple clubs

• Assisting with staffing and leave coverage

• Conducting quality inspections

• Managing cleaning supplies and stock

• Supporting payroll and timesheet compliance

• Coaching and mentoring cleaners

• Helping solve day-to-day operational challenges

As you develop in the role, you’ll gain exposure to every aspect of running a multi-site cleaning operation.

Stepping into the Manager’s role

Whenever the Cleaning Services Manager is on leave or unavailable, you’ll step up and assume responsibility for leading the department.

You’ll become the primary point of contact for the cleaning operation, ensuring every club remains fully staffed, guest-ready and operating to the premium standards XtraClubs is known for.

This is why the role exists—not simply to support the manager, but to become someone who can confidently lead the operation whenever required.
