A little about the roleAs Team Manager, you'll play a pivotal leadership role in shaping and delivering high-quality Out of Home Care services across the East Kimberley. Working closely with the Operations Manager, you'll lead a dedicated team to provide safe, therapeutic and culturally responsive care that helps children and young people thrive.
You will recruit, lead and inspire a multidisciplinary team through effective recruitment process, supervision, coaching, support and professional development.You will drive high-quality foster care and complex care services that are child safe, therapeutic and culturally responsive.The role allows you to build strong partnerships with carers, communities, government agencies and key stakeholders across the region.You will support the recruitment, assessment, training and ongoing development of foster carersYou will provide visible leadership within the East Kimberley, promoting best practice, continuous improvement and positive outcomes for children and young people.You will oversee service quality, safeguarding, compliance and risk management, ensuring services meet legislative and organisational standardsYou will have an active management presence in the region with Key Assets staff, the Department of Communities, and other agencies
The base salary for this position is $115,337 – $120,440/annum + super + vehicle & fuel card + salary packaging options up to $15,900 per annum. This position is a permanent ongoing role with hybrid working options after 3 months.
About youYou are an experienced and values-driven leader with a passion for achieving positive outcomes for children, young people and families. You bring strong management capability, sound professional judgement and the ability to lead teams in complex and culturally diverse environments.
You will also have:A Social Work qualification recognised by the Australian Association of Social Workers (AASW) or an equivalent professional body.A minimum of 5 years' post-qualification experience working with children and families, including at least 2 years in child protection and/or out-of-home care.Demonstrated leadership experience with a proven ability to develop, motivate and support high-performing teamsStrong knowledge of child protection, safeguarding and therapeutic care practices.Exceptional relationship-building skills with the ability to engage effectively with carers, communities, government agencies and key stakeholders.A commitment to culturally responsive practice and experience working alongside Aboriginal children, families and communities.Resilience, initiative and a solutions-focused mindset, with the ability to navigate challenges and changing priorities in a complex environment.Excellent communication, report writing and organisational skills.
