Mine Accountant

Summary:

Mount Morgan mine has been restored to become the heartbeat and pride of Mount Morgan once again!

We are looking for a Mine Accountant who will play a crucial role in the operation by managing financial records, ensuring compliance with regulations, and providing accurate monthly and adhoc financial reporting.

Based in Rockhampton, Queensland, this permanent full-time position is essential for maintaining the financial health of mining operations and supporting strategic decision-making within the organisation.

The position is Monday to Friday with travel to site required from time to time to verify and check asset and inventory levels as well as meeting and liaising with KSH.

Responsibilities:

• Prepare and maintain accurate financial records for mining operations.
• Conduct regular financial analysis and reporting to support management decisions.
• Ensure compliance with relevant financial regulations and standards oncluding chart of accounts and maintaining adherance of delegation of authority by all personnel.
• Assist in the preparation of budgets and forecasts for projects and mining/process operations.
• Collaborate with operational teams to provide financial insights and support.
• Monitor and report on key performance indicators related to financial performance.
• Manage accounts payable and receivable processes with relevant staff.
• Support the annual audit process by providing necessary documentation and information.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Prefer minimum of 3-4 years’ experience in accounting or finance, preferably within the mining industry.
• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
• Proficiency in accounting software (PRONTO) and Microsoft Excel.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Working a 5/2 roster be home every night, options for Rockhampton Office and/or Mine based as well as hybrid are available for consideration in this role.
