About the role
As an Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) Officer at Manhari Recycling, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the health, safety and environmental compliance of our recycling operations in Tottenham, VIC. This full-time position is essential in upholding our commitment to the wellbeing of our employees and the community we serve.What you'll be doingWork with Management and employees to foster a risk free work place.Develop, implement and monitor Environment, Health and Safety and management systems to protect our workforce and the local environmentConduct risk assessments, inspections and audits to identify and mitigate potential hazardsProvide training and support to employees on safety protocols and environmental best practicesInvestigate incidents and near-misses, and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrencePromote and ensure compliance with all relevant health, safety and environmental legislation and regulationsCollaborate with management to continuously improve our HSE performanceMaintain detailed records and reporting on all HSE activitiesWhat we're looking forTertiary qualification in Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Science or a related disciplineRelevant experience in a similar HSE role, preferably in the construction or waste management industriesThorough understanding of health, safety and environmental legislation, standards and best practicesExcellent communication and stakeholder management skillsStrong problem-solving, analytical and report-writing abilitiesProficient in the use of relevant HSE software and data management systemsProactive, detail-oriented and committed to continuous improvement
