About the role
We are seeking to establish a pool of Kindergarten to Year 6 (K-6) Teachers for permanent and fixed term, full-time and part-time vacancies which may arise during the 2027 school year. Appointments may be offered at any time for vacancies that commence during this period.
At Carlisle Primary School (PS), we inspire our students to develop confidence, resilience, independence, and the ability to collaborate with one another to be the problem solvers, the creators and the innovators of tomorrow.
Carlisle PS is a culturally diverse Independent Public School catering for approximately 352 students from K-6. Our positive school culture is built upon strong relationships between students, staff, families and the wider community. We value high expectations, inclusion, collaboration, cultural responsiveness and a shared responsibility for the learning and wellbeing of every student.
The school is entering an exciting period of growth and improvement as we develop a new Business Plan to guide our strategic direction. Our improvement journey will be underpinned by high care and high expectations, evidence-based instruction and high-impact teaching strategies. We are strengthening consistent whole-school approaches to teaching, assessment and behaviour while building on the positive relationships, effective programs and strong early childhood practices already established across the school.
Find out more about our school by visiting Carlisle Primary School or Schools Online.
The Role
Suitable applicants will ideally be skilled, enthusiastic and relational educators who combine genuine care for students with high expectations for engagement, effort, behaviour and achievement. They should create safe and inclusive classrooms where every student feels a strong sense of belonging and is supported and challenged to achieve their potential.
Applicants should display a strong understanding of the Western Australian Curriculum and use explicit, evidence-based and high-impact teaching practices to maximise learning time and improve literacy and numeracy outcomes. They should use assessment data to identify student needs, differentiate teaching, monitor progress and provide targeted intervention or extension.
For early childhood positions, knowledge of contemporary, evidence-based early childhood practice will be highly regarded. Applicants should display the capacity to balance developmentally appropriate, intentional teaching with purposeful play-based learning experiences.
Suitable applicants should be reflective, collaborative and committed to ongoing professional growth. They would build positive relationships with students, colleagues and families and contribute to team planning, professional dialogue and the consistent implementation of agreed whole-school approaches. Applications are welcomed from experienced and early career teachers who are open to learning and committed to contributing positively to Carlisle Primary School’s next phase of improvement.
