CHEF/FRONT OF HOUSE (BARISTRA)

Chad & Simon – Wollongong Region
Hourly Rate: $33–$40, depending on experience
Monday to Friday | Early starts and early finishes

Chad & Simon is seeking two enthusiastic and reliable hospitality professionals to join our growing team in the Wollongong region.

We are currently recruiting for:

1. Café Chef

2. Front of House / Barista

Both positions offer excellent weekday working hours, a supportive team environment and the opportunity to develop into permanent roles.

We are looking for an experienced and motivated chef who can confidently manage daily kitchen operations and consistently produce high-quality food.

Key responsibilities:

• Prepare and cook fresh, high-quality meals

• Coordinate daily kitchen operations and food preparation

• Assist with menu development and seasonal specials

• Maintain consistent presentation, portioning and quality standards

• Manage stock levels, ordering, rotation and waste

• Ensure compliance with food-safety and workplace hygiene requirements

• Maintain a clean, organised and efficient kitchen

• Work closely with the front-of-house team to deliver smooth service

What we are looking for:

• Previous experience as a chef or cook in a busy café or hospitality environment

• Strong food-preparation and kitchen-management skills

• Sound knowledge of food safety, stock control and waste management

• Ability to work efficiently and independently

• Excellent organisation, reliability and attention to detail

• A positive attitude and strong team focus

We are looking for a friendly, energetic and experienced front-of-house team member who takes pride in delivering excellent coffee and customer service.

Key responsibilities:

• Prepare and serve high-quality coffee and beverages

• Welcome customers and provide friendly, efficient service

• Take customer orders and process transactions

• Assist with food presentation and service

• Maintain clean and organised service, coffee and dining areas

• Restock products and monitor daily inventory

• Follow food-safety, hygiene and workplace procedures

• Support the wider team during busy service periods

What we are looking for:

• Previous barista and front-of-house experience

• Confidence preparing a range of espresso-based beverages

• Excellent communication and customer-service skills

• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment

• A professional, friendly and well-presented manner

• Reliability, punctuality and a positive attitude

• Competitive hourly rate of $33–$40, depending on experience

• Monday-to-Friday working week

• Early starts and early finishes

• No regular weekend work
