Accountant

Position Overview

You’re not a graduate and perhaps aren’t quite at the level of a senior accountant yet… but want to be in future. Accountants manage a set of clients and their associated tasks on a day to day basis with a focus on: meeting deadlines, communicating with the team around them and ensuring that clients are not just happy, but stoked to be working with us. They will take direction from both the Senior Accountant and the Manager.

Your Role

Be responsible for running own individual work/job reportSupport Senior Accountant and Manager by completing required tasksPrepare BAS / ITRs / Financial StatementsRun review process on BAS and individual ITRs and send to clientAssist with preparation for Tax Planning meetingsPrepare for VCFO meetings and Management reporting meetings where requiredProactively make suggestions on improved client systems and processesDraft response to client queries for Senior Accountant approvalManage and track weekly utilisation (Workflow Capacity Spreadsheet)If under-utilised, proactively communicate with manager for more workIf over-utilised, proactively communicate with managers to assess client workReview and allocate mail folder, and communicate with Senior Accountant/Manager if unsureParticipate in the ongoing development and establishment of accounting policies and procedures and operational strategies including the review and implementation of process and system changesContinued focus on improving system efficiencies and business practicesMake recommendations for changes as needed and ensure that company policies and procedures are followed
