Graduate Accountant

Position Overview

The ideal position for a graduate looking to get experience in private practice accounting, learn about business advisory and get a feel for working in a team that champions its people. The Graduate Accountant is responsible for focusing on the lower level/administrative tasks, working with the team to deliver client outcomes. They will take direction from the Senior Accountants and the Manager – however, as with everything we do, it’s a two way street. We love hearing ideas no-matter what your role and are on the hunt for someone who has ambition and always includes the adjective “proactive” on their cover letter (hint hint).

Your Role

Be responsible for running own individual work/job reportSupport Senior Accountant and Manager by completing required tasksCommunicate with ATO in order to follow up on current/outstanding issuesDraft response to client queries for Senior Accountant approvalLiaise with Bookkeepers for client transactional queriesManage and track weekly utilisation (Workflow Capacity Spreadsheet)If under-utilised, proactively communicate with manager for more workIf over-utilised, proactively communicate with managers to assess client workMeeting preparation for Snr Accountant/Accountant managerScribe for Director/client meetingsAssist in the preparation of Financials and WorkpapersAssist in the preparation of Tax Returns and WorkpapersAssist in the preparation of BAS and WorkpapersAssist in tax planning preparationsAssist in meetings with clients for individual tax return preparation
