About The Infants' Home
The Infants' Home has supported children and families since 1874. Based in Ashfield, we are a not-for-profit, integrated child and family service. Our services bring together early childhood education and care, family day care, early intervention, clinical services, family support and community programs. Today we run three integrated early childhood education and care services onsite in Ashfield, and our Family Day Care serves the greater Sydney region.
Since 1874 we have championed the rights of children, women and families and protected those at risk. We guide families to build their strength, skills and confidence for a more positive future. Around 30% of our onsite services target children and families living with vulnerability or additional needs. We are also a member of the Early Childhood Intervention Best Practice Network. The Infants' Home is a Child Safe organisation. Every child has the right to be safe, feel safe and be heard. We have zero tolerance for child abuse and protect children from harm in every part of our work.
About the role
At The Infants' Home, our Diploma Qualified Early Childhood Educators help create safe, inclusive and responsive environments where children thrive. We are open to permanent or casual employment, so whether you are after an ongoing role or the flexibility of casual shift work, we'd love to hear from you.
You will enjoy real variety, strong peer support and genuine room to grow. Working closely with families, educators and allied health professionals, you will plan, deliver, document and evaluate play-based programs that respond to each child's strengths, interests, cultures and learning needs.
Best of all, this is a chance to build meaningful relationships with children and families and to grow your practice within an integrated service that has championed the rights of children for over 150 years.
About you
You are a caring, child-focused educator who values authentic relationships with children, families and colleagues. You listen well, communicate honestly, and bring warmth, patience and professionalism to your practice each day. You will have, or bring:
an ACECQA approved diploma level education and care qualification or higher (completed)
sound knowledge of the National Quality Framework, the Early Years Learning Framework and child development
a genuine commitment to inclusive, play-based learning and the rights of children
the ability to observe, document and critically reflect on children's learning
strong, respectful communication skills with children, families and your team
Mandatory national child safety training (Geccko)
Approved Child Protection training (CHCPRT025 or equivalent)
Current First Aid Certificate (HLTAID012)
Food Handler Basics Certificate
Above all, you care deeply about children, you value working as part of a team, and you want to make a real difference in the lives of children and families.
All employees at The Infants’ Home must have valid working rights in Australia and hold a current NSW Working with Children Check.
