About the Role

Reporting to the General Manager – West Coast Operations you'll be responsible for identifying, developing and securing new business opportunities while managing and growing key strategic customer relationships.

You'll engage with stakeholders from boardroom executives through to operational site personnel, understanding their challenges and delivering tailored solutions across our diverse range of products, maintenance services, labour solutions and project capabilities.

This role combines strategic planning, commercial negotiation, account management and market intelligence to support the continued growth of FMS Group throughout Western Australia.

Regular travel throughout Western Australia and some interstate travel will form part of this position.

Key Responsibilities

As our Strategic Business Development Manager, you will:

• Develop and maintain strong relationships with key mining and industrial clients
• Identify and secure new business opportunities across WA and nationally
• Generate and convert sales opportunities into long-term partnerships
• Lead commercial negotiations and contract discussions
• Prepare and coordinate tenders, pricing proposals and presentations
• Maintain accurate sales pipelines and market intelligence within the CRM
• Collaborate closely with operational teams to deliver exceptional customer outcomes
• Monitor market trends, competitor activity and emerging opportunities
• Provide regular reporting on sales performance, forecasts and strategic initiatives
• Represent FMS Group professionally across client meetings, networking events and industry forums

About You

We're looking for someone who combines strong commercial capability with exceptional relationship-building skills.

You'll ideally bring:

• Minimum 5 years' experience in Business Development, Account Management or Strategic Sales
• Experience selling into the mining, mobile plant, construction equipment or heavy industrial sectors
• Demonstrated success in winning new business and growing existing accounts
• Strong commercial, financial and negotiation skills
• Ability to engage confidently with executive stakeholders and operational teams alike
• Excellent communication, presentation and influencing skills
• Experience managing CRM systems and sales pipelines
• High level of self-motivation and ability to work autonomously
• Current Australian Driver's Licence
• Willingness to travel as required

A qualification in Business, Sales or a related discipline will be highly regarded.
