We are seeking a Project Manager – Development to lead the early-stage planning and development of transmission projects, with a strong focus on providing critical inputs to business case development.
You will play a key role in shaping project scope, timelines, and feasibility—ensuring each initiative is strategically aligned and set up for long-term success. You will collaborate across multidisciplinary teams and stakeholders to deliver quality outcomes.

With a Hybrid working arrangement, this role is based in Southbank and is part of the Project Delivery team within the Transmission line of business.
What you’ll be doing in this role: Lead, plan, and manage the delivery of strategic initiatives and projects across the project development lifecycleProvide key inputs to business case development, including support for scope definition, cost estimation, risk identification, and schedulingDeliver project schedules, milestones, and deliverables with business objectives and within regulatory requirementsApply proactive risk management practices to safeguard timelines, budgets, and outcomesConduct project health checks and provide clear, actionable recommendationsEnsure customer needs, community expectations, and environmental outcomes are embedded in project design and deliveryBuild strong, trust-based relationships across AusNet divisions and with external stakeholders
You don't need to check every box; however, we are looking for a good combination of:Demonstrated experience in electricity transmission or energy infrastructure development (preferred)Proven ability to build collaborative relationships across internal teams and external stakeholdersDemonstrated success in delivering complex projects to time, budget, quality, and safety standardsStrong capability in contributing to business case inputs and supporting strategic investment decisionsCommitment to safety, sustainability, and community outcomesExcellent communication, report writing, and presentation skillsEffective interpersonal, negotiating and facilitating skillsTertiary qualifications in Project Management, Engineering, Business, or equivalentCertification with the Australian Institute of Project Management (preferred) The AusNet experience is all about…
