This position requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage sensitive financial information with discretion, integrity, and professionalism. You will work closely with the Finance Manager and broader leadership team, contributing to financial reporting, payroll coordination, trust‑account compliance, taxation support, and business improvement initiatives.
Key responsibilities include:
Assist in preparing monthly financial reports and support budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis
Coordinate payroll requirements, including liaising with payroll providers and ensuring PAYG and superannuation compliance
Manage trust‑account processes, including reconciliations, trust trial balances, investment trial balances, and trust payments
Support the annual trust audit and maintain accurate trust‑related financial records
Assist with BAS preparation, payroll tax, and year‑end financial adjustments
Maintain accurate financial records and ensure data integrity across accounting and practice‑management systems
Contribute to business improvement initiatives, including enhancing financial systems, reporting processes, and workflows
Ideally, you will bring to the role:
A Bachelor degree in Accounting, Business, or a related field
Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
High level of professional judgement, resilience, and ethical practice
Ability to manage sensitive financial information with discretion and integrity
Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to maintain accuracy under pressure
Proficiency in financial systems and advanced Microsoft Excel
Strong organisational and time‑management skills
Desirable:
A proactive approach to improving financial systems, reporting processes, and workflows
Genuine interest in the legal industry and its regulatory and trust‑account frameworks
Commitment to accuracy, integrity, and ethical financial practice
If you’re looking to begin your accounting career in a supportive, professional environment where your development is prioritised and your contribution is valued, this is the role for you.
