Relationship Therapist (Couples and/or Trauma) | Independent Contractor

We are an emerging, boutique relationship therapy clinic in Springwood, Logan dedicated to helping couples and individuals build stronger, healthier and more connected relationships. Our work is grounded in evidence-based practice, but just as importantly, in warmth, compassion and genuine human connection.

We believe relationships are shaped by our attachment histories, our nervous systems, our neurology, our experiences of trauma, our capacity for intimacy, and the ways we've learned to protect ourselves. We don't just teach communication skills, we help people understand themselves, so they can relate to each other differently.

We're looking for a person-centred, relational therapist to join our growing practice as an independent contractor. This role will suit someone whose passion is couples work, trauma therapy, or ideally, the integration of both.

About the role

You'll have the opportunity to build a caseload of motivated clients while working alongside a practice committed to clinical excellence, collaboration and exceptional client care.

As an independent contractor, you'll enjoy the flexibility to manage your own diary while benefiting from a supportive practice with established referral pathways, administration and marketing support. We're intentionally building a boutique clinic rather than a high-volume practice and our goal is to build a culture where our staff genuinely love coming to work.

We are particularly interested in clinicians with experience or advanced training in one or more of the following areas:

• Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT)

• Gottman Method Couples Therapy

• Imago or PACT also considered

• EMDR or other evidence-based trauma therapies

• Attachment-informed therapy or parts work

• Neurodiverse relationships

• Sex therapy or intimacy work

You do not have to meet every criterion above. We'd love to hear from you if you're passionate about relationship therapy and committed to ongoing learning in this space.

Essential

• Relevant tertiary qualifications in Psychology, Social Work or Counselling.

• Current general registration as a Psychologist with AHPRA, or current membership with AASW, PACFA (Clinical) or ACA (Level 4 preferred for counsellors).

• Minimum two years' post-qualification clinical experience working with adults.

• Training and experience in couples therapy.

• Strong understanding of attachment theory and trauma-informed practice.

• Current ABN and professional indemnity insurance.

• Commitment to ongoing clinical supervision and professional development.

Highly Desirable

• Advanced training in EFT, Gottman Method or another evidence-based couples approach is highly desirable.

• Training in EMDR or another evidence-based trauma therapy.

• Experience working with neurodivergent adults and couples.

• Training or experience in sex therapy or intimacy concerns.

• Current First Aid, CPR and Blue Card (or willingness to obtain if required).
