Autoworks Mount Thorley is a locally owned business based in Mt Thorley, NSW. We provide a wide range of services including light and medium vehicle repairs and maintenance, plant repairs, logbook and fleet servicing, labour hire, field service maintenance and breakdowns, and parts supply.

Our operations are based at 24 Woodland Road, Mt Thorley, with field service operations throughout the Hunter Valley.

Our LV workshop is equipped with modern tooling, equipment and diagnostic software to provide technicians with the right equipment to do the job properly.

About the role

We are seeking experienced Light Vehicle Mechanics and Plant Mechanics to join our growing team.

We have positions available at our Mt Thorley workshop and in field service supporting our Muswellbrook and Singleton operations.

You will work on a wide variety of vehicles and equipment. The successful applicants will have previous experience in a similar role, a strong work ethic and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.

Positions

Light Vehicle Mechanic – Mt Thorley
$45–$52 per hour + super

Based at our Mt Thorley workshop, working on a wide variety of vehicles with a strong focus on 4WDs.

Work includes:

• Servicing and scheduled maintenance

• Major mechanical repairs

• Suspension upgrades

• Clutches and brakes

• Bearings

• Diagnostics

• Breakdown repairs

• General repairs and maintenance

The workshop primarily works on vehicles such as Toyota Hilux, LandCruiser, Mitsubishi Triton and Ford Ranger, along with a wide range of other makes and models.

Plant Mechanic – Field Service
$60–$66 per hour + super

Field service position supporting our Muswellbrook operations at a local mine site.

You will be provided with a work vehicle and fuel card and will work on a range of small to medium plant and equipment, including:

• Generators

• Forklifts

• EWPs

• Pumps

• 4WDs

• Medium trucks

• Other small plant and equipment

Mandatory requirements

• Relevant trade qualification / Certificate of Proficiency

• Previous experience in a similar role

• Plant Mechanics must have previous mine site experience

• Diagnostic experience

• Previous breakdown experience

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team

• Valid Australian driver's licence

• Strong commitment to WH&S and safe work practices

• Australian citizen or permanent resident

• Ability to pass and maintain an Order 45 Coal Board Medical, at Autoworks' expense

Desirable

• High Risk Work Licence / forklift ticket

• Light Vehicle AIS Examiner

• Qualified A/C Technician

• Auto Electrical experience or qualification

• Truck licence
