Thermal Double Glazing Pty Ltd specialises in the supply and installation of custom uPVC double-glazed windows and doors for residential properties. Our work includes replacement installations, renovations and new-build projects across Melbourne.

Due to continued demand for our services, we are seeking an experienced Carpenter to join our team on a full-time basis.

About the Role

The Carpenter will undertake carpentry, framing, preparation and installation work associated with double-glazed window and door systems.

The role involves preparing and modifying structural openings, installing window and door frames, completing associated timber work and ensuring installations are completed accurately and to the required building standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Read and interpret drawings, measurements and specifications to determine carpentry and installation requirements.

• Measure, cut, prepare and modify timber and wall framing for double-glazed window and door installations.

• Install, position, level and secure window and door frames in residential and commercial properties.

• Repair and reinforce timber studs, headers and surrounding framing where required.

• Fit timber reveals, architraves, trims and flashings around installed windows and doors.

• Remove existing windows and prepare structural openings for replacement window and door systems.

• Carry out associated finishing, waterproofing and sealing work in accordance with building and WHS requirements.

Skills and Experience

To be successful in this role, you will have:

• Certificate III in Carpentry or an equivalent relevant trade qualification.

• 1 - 2 years of relevant experience working as a Carpenter.

• Experience with window and door installation, residential construction or renovation work.

• Experience with timber framing, structural preparation and finishing carpentry.

• Ability to accurately measure, cut, fit and install building components.

• Ability to read and interpret drawings, measurements and specifications.

• Competency in the use of carpentry hand tools and power tools.

• Good understanding of workplace health and safety requirements.

• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

• Current White Card.

• Current Australian driver licence preferred.
