Site Manager

ABOUT THE POSITION: 

Working alongside exhibition project teams, the Exhibition Site Manager plans and safely delivers exhibition installation and deinstallation, with an emphasis on quality, efficiency, compliance and safety. The role is accountable for coordinating the efficient, effective and safe production and work activities associated with the delivery and installation of our exhibitions. 

Some of the key duties include: 

• Liaise directly with the Producer/Project Manager on all aspects of the exhibition build, including materials and methods, operational implications, budgets and schedules.
• Assist with developing and overseeing detailed production installation/deinstallation schedules, with particular regard to safety and timeframes.
• Coordinate the scope of work of contractors, consultants and internal and external fabricators, including following MV's procurement requirements.
• Establish and manage the work site as a construction site, including controls, records, signage, inductions, daily briefings, site diary and site access.
• Create and maintain a Health & Safety Coordination Plan, and coordinate risk assessments, safe work method statements, controls and other risk management documentation for the site. 

The successful applicant will have: 

• Experience in the delivery and installation of exhibitions or other major visitor experiences, preferably in a museum, and/or industry/trades experience in an associated field (for example theatre, film, building and construction, or interior fit out).
• Extensive and demonstrated experience working in a supervisory capacity on construction sites involving current OH&S and site safety practices and regulatory requirements, with a sound knowledge of Workplace Health and Safety.
• Demonstrated project management skills incorporating planning, time, cost, quality, resource and risk management, and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
• Communication and interpersonal skills of a high order, including the ability to liaise with staff across the organisation and external stakeholders, direct and supervise contractors, and negotiate and resolve conflicts positively.
• Sound administration and documentation skills, including the ability to prepare site diaries, reports, inductions and safe work method statements, and to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
• A current Construction Industry Induction (White Card) and first aid training. A current EWP and/or forklift licence is desirable. 

OTHER INFORMATION 

There are two fixed term, full time positions available (fixed term until 4 December 2026). The salary on offer is Grade 4, Value Range 1 - $100,894 per annum, pro rata + 12% Superannuation.
