About the role
East Lindfield Community Preschool is seeking an experienced and energetic Early Childhood Teacher (full time or part time) to join our team, commencing Term 1, 2027 for a maternity leave position.
ABOUT THE POSITION
As the Early Childhood Teacher in the room, you will be responsible for developing and delivering a high quality and inclusive educational experience for all children within your group. This position also works closely with the Teaching staff in the other classrooms to ensure cohesion and support across the Preschool.
ABOUT YOU
You are a warm, enthusiastic and dedicated educator, with the ability to inspire children in their love of learning. You are organised, community focussed and hold yourself to high standards and you have a strong commitment to child safety.
Your experience working collaboratively within a team, ensures learning programs are adaptable, achievable and incorporate best practice. You are an excellent communicator within the classroom, and demonstrate a high level of written and verbal professionalism when liaising with parents, our community and other staff.
Your commitment to continual professional development and reflection are evidenced in your classroom and practice, and further demonstrated in the growth and development of the children within your care.
SELECTION CRITERIA
A recognised Early Childhood Teaching degree or similar as approved by the Australian Children’s Education and Quality Authority (ACECQA)
NESA accreditation to teach in New South Wales
Ability to plan and implement differentiated and creative programs in an early education setting
Experience working in a higher needs learning environment or inclusion support
Demonstrated ability to lead a small team of Educators
Excellent listening, written and verbal communication skills
Strong understanding of the Education and Care Services National Law, the Education and Care Services National Regulations, National Quality Framework, and the Early Years Learning Framework
Current First Aid and CPR qualifications
A firm commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children
Strong understanding of the Child Safe Standards and embedding them into everyday practice and classroom philosophy

East Lindfield Community Preschool is located in Sydney’s Upper North Shore. This traditional community preschool is well resourced, provides high quality early education from 7.30am – 3:30pm, and offers 3 rooms with a total of 56 places each day. The Preschool prides itself on its positive team environment, community focus and building strong relationships with students and their families.

WORKING WITH CHILDREN CHECK, FIRST AID, FOOD SAFETY AND WORKING RIGHTS
The successful applicant for this position will be required to hold a current NSW Working with Children Check clearance; first aid qualifications (HLTAID0012) including CPR, asthma and anaphylaxis management; and food handler certificate. Applicants must be an Australian citizen or permanent resident or hold a visa with appropriate working rights.
