Medical Receptionist - Part Time

About us

Burgundy Street Family Medical is located in the heart of Heidelberg. Located opposite Austin Hospital and next to Warringal Private Hospital, we are a small but busy doctor owned GP practice with modern medical equipment and friendly staff. We have been providing quality care to our community since 2016. We primarily use Best Practice software.

We are looking for a receptionist to work part-time hours which may include some Saturdays. Days may change over the year.

Qualifications & experience

• Health care sector experience is preferred but not essential

• Proficiency with technology and software such as Best Practice, Cliniko, Cubiko and HotDoc is an advantage, but not required

• Excellent communication skills including a professional, but warm and personal phone manner

• Possess remarkable customer service skills

• Multitasker and energetic

• Attention to detail

• Compassionate and able to build rapport with people

• Passionate and driven

• Must be a team player

Tasks & responsibilities

• Greeting patients and welcoming them to the clinic

• Assisting patients with their phone and email inquires in a courteous and efficient manner

• Scheduling appointments over the phone

• Processing Medicare billing and private payments with utmost accuracy

• Scanning and filing patients records, results and other correspondence

• Liaising with referring doctors, other health professionals and team members in a professional manner

• Administrative support and other ad hoc duties

• Perform administrative duties delegated by the management

• Maintaining reception area in a tidy and welcoming manner

• Work both cooperatively and independently
