About the Role

We are seeking a highly organised and detail-oriented Sample Administration Officer / MinLIMS Officer to join our Minerals laboratory team in Adelaide. This role plays a vital part in ensuring the accurate registration, tracking, processing and reporting of laboratory samples while maintaining the highest standards of data integrity, confidentiality, and customer service.

Based at our Wingfield laboratory, the successful candidate will be responsible for laboratory information management, sample administration, logistics coordination, and supporting laboratory operations to ensure efficient workflow and exceptional client service.

Key Responsibilities

As our Sample Administration Officer / MinLIMS Officer, you will:

• Register, process and manage laboratory jobs using the Minerals Laboratory Information Management System (MinLIMS).

• Accurately perform data entry, validation and reporting activities.

• Ensure all client information, sample data and results are handled with strict confidentiality.

• Transfer job scans and related documentation to Data Control Perth.

• Maintain client information databases, spreadsheets and laboratory records.

• Liaise with laboratory supervisors, technical staff and clients to clarify job requirements and ensure correct analytical methods and QA/QC protocols are applied.

• Complete Stage 1, 2 and 3 LIMS data entry processes.

• Collate, prepare and distribute laboratory paperwork and reports.

• Conduct final quality checks of data and reports prior to customer release.

• Maintain production logs and administrative records.

• Generate and apply sample identification labels using Laboratory Information Systems.

• Receive, dispatch and track samples internally and externally.

• Coordinate local, national and international sample transport quotations and shipments.

• Maintain transport cost records and sample transfer documentation.

• Catalogue, archive and palletise completed jobs in a timely manner.

• Perform general housekeeping and maintain a safe, clean work environment.

• Support special projects and undertake other duties as required.

About You

To be successful in this role, you will have:

• Previous experience in laboratory administration, sample management, data entry, logistics or a similar role.

• Experience using MINLIMS or other laboratory information management systems highly regarded.

• Exceptional attention to detail and commitment to data accuracy.

• Strong organisational and time management skills.

• Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.

• Excellent communication and customer service skills.

• A proactive approach to problem-solving and continuous improvement.

• Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team.
