We’re working with an established equine group with a base at Flemington Racecourse, looking to strengthen their Melbourne veterinary team.

The practice works with racing and sport horse clients across Flemington, Cranbourne, Pakenham and Mornington, offering a genuinely varied ambulatory caseload with strong exposure to performance work.

You could be involved in:

• Thoroughbred racetrack and stable-side work

• Lameness diagnostics and nerve blocks

• Digital radiography and ultrasonography

• Poor-performance investigations

• Video and dynamic endoscopy

• Pre-purchase examinations

• Thoroughbred sales work

• Sport horse medicine

• Surgery and regenerative therapies

This is a well-equipped environment with a strong emphasis on bringing advanced diagnostics directly to the horse rather than simply providing routine first-opinion ambulatory care.

Their previous recruitment package included a fully maintained vehicle, mobile phone, uniform, four weeks’ annual leave and CPD support, with remuneration dependent on experience. 

It could be a particularly strong move for an equine vet looking to develop further within racing, lameness and performance medicine while still having a broad ambulatory caseload.
