Baker – Full-Time or Part-Time

One bakery role. Three Hills locations. A chance to help build something.

We’re looking for a practical, reliable and team-focused Baker to join our growing local business and help develop a new bakery program based at the Upper Beaconsfield General Store.

Baking is the primary focus of this role. Barista and café all-rounder skills are not essential, but would be highly regarded.

About the role

You’ll help produce fresh bread, pastry and café bakery products for the Upper Beaconsfield General Store and our Over the Road venues in Emerald and Gembrook.

Products may include:

• Rustic white and sourdough loaves

• Croissants and laminated pastries

• Brioche buns and enriched dough products

• Banana bread and café baked goods

• Seasonal and creative bakery products

Our business already makes pies and sausage rolls in-house. This role will help us build on that foundation by developing consistent, high-quality bread, pastry and café baking across our locations.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Preparing, shaping, proving and baking products

• Working with smaller kitchens and a variety of equipment

• Adjusting recipes, batch sizes and production methods

• Planning production around demand and freshness

• Developing recipes, systems and production processes

• Maintaining consistent product quality and presentation

• Managing basic stock, ingredients and wastage

• Keeping the bakery and kitchen areas clean and organised

• Completing normal cleaning and dishes as part of each shift

• Supporting the wider café team when required

• Working across our Hills locations when needed

About you

You may be a qualified baker, pastry cook, experienced bakery assistant or a café all-rounder with strong practical baking skills.

You’ll ideally have:

• Practical commercial baking experience

• Experience with bread, pastry, brioche or laminated doughs

• The ability to work confidently in a smaller kitchen

• A flexible and creative approach

• Good organisation and attention to detail

• A positive, hands-on attitude

• The ability to work well in a small team

• A friendly and approachable manner with customers

• The confidence to work alongside younger and developing team members

• Pride in cleanliness, food safety and presentation

• A willingness to help wherever the business needs you

Barista and café experience

Barista skills are not essential, but they would be highly regarded.

The ideal candidate may also be comfortable helping with coffee, breakfast, toasties, customer service or general café work when required. Baking remains the primary focus of the role.
