About the role

As the Team Lead of Psychology, Counselling & Diagnostics, you will provide leadership, supervision and operational support to a multidisciplinary team delivering psychological therapy, counselling, and autism diagnostic assessment services.

Maintaining an active clinical caseload, you will provide psychological services while leading and supporting a multidisciplinary team. You will help shape and strengthen Autism SA's diagnostic services, providing leadership and clinical guidance to ensure assessments are evidence-based, person-centred and responsive to the needs of individuals and families.

The key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Provide day-to-day leadership, supervision, coaching and support to psychologists, counsellors and diagnostic clinicians.

• Maintain an active clinical caseload, including therapeutic interventions and autism diagnostic assessments.

• Conduct comprehensive autism assessments and contribute to multidisciplinary diagnostic processes.

• Ensure high-quality clinical practice and compliance with professional, organisational and NDIS requirements.

• Support staff performance, onboarding, professional development and reflective practice.

• Provide consultation and guidance regarding complex clinical presentations, autism assessments and diagnostic decision-making.

• Contribute to operational planning, service development and continuous improvement initiatives.

• Foster strong relationships with clients, families, internal teams and external stakeholders.

• Collaborate with Clinical Leads and operational leaders to ensure effective and sustainable service delivery.

What you'll need to succeed

• Current registration with AHPRA as a Registered Psychologist or Clinical Psychologist.

• Demonstrated experience conducting autism diagnostic assessments across children, adolescents and/or adults.

• A collaborative leadership style, with the ability to foster teamwork, value diverse perspectives and support shared decision-making.

• Previous experience in staff leadership, supervision, mentoring or team management.

• Strong knowledge of contemporary autism assessment and diagnostic best practice.

• Excellent clinical reasoning, report writing and communication skills.

• Demonstrated ability to manage competing priorities while maintaining high-quality service delivery.

• Strong commitment to person-centred, neuro-affirming and evidence-based practice.

• Satisfactory NDIS Worker Screening Check, Working with Children Check and National Police Check.

• Current Driver's Licence (C Class)
