The SESLHD Mental Health Service is a specialised clinical service, providing care to a local population of over 930,000 residents in the Sydney metropolitan area. We provide care within both hospital and community settings to support people living with mental illness at times when acute intervention is needed, or to remain well in their community and lead their own recovery.

The Role
Make a Difference Where Safety and Compassion Come Together
We are looking for an empathetic and intuitive Health & Security Assistant with security experience and strong people skills to join our Mental Health team.
This is more than a traditional security role. You will work closely with nursing and clinical staff in a fast-paced acute mental health environment, helping to maintain a safe, supportive and therapeutic setting for patients, staff and visitors.
Guided by the principles of low conflict, high therapy, you will combine your security experience with compassion, communication and good judgement to support positive patient interactions and respond effectively to challenging situations.

Experience in a health-related field is highly desirable.
Where you'll be working
You will be based at Mental Health Inpatient Units, St George Mental Health Service, located on the St George Hospital campus, Kogarah.
The roster includes 10 hour shifts covering mornings, midday and afternoons, with the inclusion of weekends and public holidays, accompanied with attractive penalty rates.
