Estimator/Customer Service Representative

ABOUT THE ROLE

Precision Oxycut is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Estimator / Customer Service Representative to join our team. This is a dynamic role that combines customer service, estimating, quotation preparation, and order processing within our steel plate profiling and processing business. As the first point of contact for customers, you will handle enquiries via phone and email, prepare accurate quotations, interpret customer requirements and technical drawings, and coordinate orders through production. You will work closely with Sales, Operations, and Production teams to ensure customers receive timely information and exceptional service.

The primary duties of the role include:

• Preparing and processing quotations for steel profiling and processing requirements.

• Managing customer enquiries by phone and email.

• Reviewing technical drawings and specifications to determine customer requirements.

• Order entry, order booking, and order tracking.

• Liaising with Production, Sales, and Operations teams to ensure smooth order flow.

• Following up customer enquiries and quotes.

• Providing customers with updates on pricing, lead times, and order status.

• Building and maintaining strong customer relationships through professional and responsive service.

It is essential to develop a thorough understanding of our products, services, manufacturing capabilities, and supply chain processes to ensure accurate pricing and effective communication with customers. 

ABOUT YOU

• Previous experience in estimating, customer service, internal sales, or administration within a manufacturing, engineering, steel, or fabrication environment.

• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications is highly desirable.

• Understanding of steel processing, plate profiling, or metal fabrication industries is advantageous.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

• Strong computer literacy and experience with Microsoft Office applications.

• High level of accuracy and attention to detail.

• Strong organisational and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks.

• Customer-focused with a proactive and problem-solving approach.

• A self-starter who works well independently and as part of a team.
