Recycling Facility Operator - Crushing and Screening

The Position

We are currently looking for an experienced Recycling Facility Operator – Crushing & Screening to join our team at our Neerabup facility.

The ideal candidate has a strong understanding of crushing and screening operations with a minimum of 2 years' operating experience within a recycling, quarrying, mining, waste management or civil construction. You will be mechanically minded and be willing to complete routine maintenance checks including greasing, belt cleaning, tracking, screen changes and component inspections.

You will process recycled asphalt, basecourse and other recyclable road materials into quality products for our operations, keeping the facility running safely, efficiently and productively.

Key Responsibilities

• Operating and monitoring crushing, screening and conveying equipment.

• Adjusting crusher settings and operating parameters to achieve required product specifications and production targets.

• Monitoring material flow and identifying blockages, contamination and equipment issues.

• Completing daily pre-start inspections and routine operational checks.

• Conducting safe plant start-up, shutdown and emergency shutdown procedures.

• Removing contaminants including steel, timber, plastic and other materials from incoming product.

• Carrying out routine plant maintenance including greasing, cleaning, belt tracking, screen changes and component inspections.

• Identifying and reporting mechanical faults, breakdowns and abnormal equipment conditions.

• Operating front-end loaders and other mobile plant as required.

• Assisting with stockpile management, material handling and site traffic control.

Skills and Experience

• 2–5 years' experience operating crushing and screening equipment, or similar experience within recycling, quarrying, mining, waste management or civil construction.

• Sound knowledge of crushers, screens and conveyors.

• Demonstrated experience operating mobile and fixed plant.

• Front-end loader operating experience.

• Excavator, skid steer, telehandler and forklift experience will be highly regarded.

• A good understanding of recycled asphalt, road base and other pavement materials.

• The ability to identify and troubleshoot production and equipment issues.

• Mechanical aptitude and experience undertaking basic preventative maintenance.

• Strong attention to detail and a commitment to producing quality products.

• Good communication and teamwork skills.
