About the Business:

Vawdrey Axton Turner has built a TEAM of PROFESSIONALS to provide Accounting, Financial Planning, Taxation Management, and Business Advice PROACTIVELY to take their clients (small- to medium-sized businesses) to the next level. 

You will be joining a firm led by 3 highly experienced partners, all committed to their clients’ ongoing success, and an exceptional team of Accountants and support staff.  This is a busy yet friendly environment, and the firm practices a flat structure rather than siloed small teams, and is also progressive, cloud-based, and paperless.

About the Role:

You will work with a varied portfolio of SME clients – Company, Trust and High Net Worth Individuals - where you will be encouraged to think outside the square to provide the best possible tax consultancy, tax compliance and financials.

We’re looking for a DRIVEN Accounting Professional who’s READY to take the next step within their CAREER.

You will be part of a team of 20+ professionals and provide support across the 3 Partners and 4 Managers – so plenty of variety and exposure to a wide range of accounting strategies.

You will have strong knowledge of current taxation legislation with a minimum of 2 years' experience within an Accounting/ Business Advisory Firm.  Your natural drive to gain the best possible outcome for clients will be at your core.

Your skills and experience:

• A Bachelor of Business or Commerce degree is essential.

• Currently studying toward CA/CPA qualifications OR CA/ CPA Qualified will be HIGHLY REGARDED but not a requirement.

• Minimum 2 years demonstrated experience in a similar role.

• Demonstrated experience in preparing Individual, Company and Trust tax returns and financials.

• Experience preparing Business Activity Statements

• Strong technical knowledge of accounting and taxation.

• Experience working in Xero is ESSENTIAL.

• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills and confidence to communicate with clients and other members of the team.

• Analytically minded with a strong attention to detail and ability to think outside the square for solutions.

• A 'can do' attitude and the ability to work both autonomously and as part of a team.

• Exceptional ethics, self-motivation and sense of loyalty.
