Looking for your next kitchen adventure? The iconic North Gregory Hotel in Winton is looking for an experienced Sous Chef to join our busy, friendly kitchen team.

We’re a fast-paced, high-volume kitchen serving around 150–300 people per day, from locals and tourists to tour groups, functions and events.

We’re looking for someone who can handle the heat, work well as part of a team and jump in to get the job done.

Short-term or long-term stays welcome. Immediate start available.

About the Role

Working alongside the Head Chef and kitchen team, you’ll help keep our busy kitchen running smoothly and consistently.

You’ll be:

- Preparing and cooking quality pub/bistro meals
- Working busy services of 150–300 covers per day
- Supporting and leading the kitchen team during service
- Catering for functions, events and tour groups
- Training and supporting junior staff
- Maintaining quality, consistency and presentation
- Managing stock, portion control and wastage
- Maintaining high food safety and cleanliness standards

About You

We’re looking for someone who:

- Has previous Sous Chef/Chef experience
- Has experience in a fast-paced, high-volume kitchen
- Works well under pressure
- Is reliable, organised and a strong team player
- Is happy to jump in wherever needed
- Can train and support other kitchen staff
- Holds or can obtain a QLD Food Safety Supervisor certificate
- Has Australian working rights

Experience in pubs, hotels, remote locations, functions or tour-group catering is a bonus.
