About the role
Located in Sunbury, Complete Skin Specialists is a well-established specialist dermatology practice providing comprehensive medical, surgical and skin cancer services to support patients throughout their skin health journey.
Our medical practice focuses on two key areas:
Medical and Surgical Dermatology
Skin Cancer Detection and Prevention
Led by dermatologists Dr Belinda Welsh and Dr Cara McDonald, our practice includes consultant dermatologists, general practitioners, a plastic surgeon and an experienced team of administrative and clinical support staff.
We are seeking an experienced medical receptionist to join our team in an ongoing casual position, supporting our medical dermatology and skin cancer practices.
The successful applicant will be guaranteed one regular day per week, with the opportunity to work additional shifts as required and by mutual agreement. This position would suit someone seeking consistent weekly work while maintaining the flexibility to provide additional coverage during periods of annual leave, personal leave and increased operational demand.

Hours: 1 guaranteed day per week
Additional shifts may be available according to practice requirements and the successful applicant’s availability
Flexibility to work across our medical dermatology and skin cancer practice locations is required
Weekday availability is essential
Acting as the first point of contact for patients, both in person and over the telephone
Delivering a consistently high standard of patient service
Triaging and booking a broad range of medical, surgical and skin cancer appointments
Responding to patient enquiries and providing clear and accurate information
Processing billings, Medicare claims, payments and appointment deposits
Actioning requests from doctors, nurses and other members of the clinical team
Managing appointment changes, cancellations and patient follow-up requirements
Maintaining accurate patient records and upholding patient privacy and confidentiality
Supporting the smooth daily operation of reception and the broader medical practice
Completing general administrative duties and other ad hoc tasks as required
To be successful in this role, you will demonstrate:
A minimum of 5 years’ experience in medical reception or a comparable healthcare administration role
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
A warm, professional and patient-focused approach
Confidence working in a fast-paced and sometimes high-pressure environment
Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to assess situations, use initiative and identify practical solutions
The ability to remain calm, organised and professional in a high-volume, demanding and sometimes stressful environment
A high level of attention to detail and accuracy
The ability to prioritise competing responsibilities effectively
Flexibility and adaptability when supporting different areas of the medical practice
The ability to work both independently and as part of a team
Sound knowledge of Medicare billing and medical appointment processes
Professional personal presentation
A genuine interest in dermatology, skin health and patient care
Flexibility to accept additional shifts where mutually suitable
Experience using Genie Solutions is preferred but not essential. Previous experience within dermatology, skin cancer or another specialist medical practice will be highly regarded.
