About the role
Timpelle Kitchens is seeking a skilled Kitchen Polyurethane Sander to join our team on a full-time basis. This is a hands-on position based in Prestons, NSW, where you will play a crucial role in delivering high-quality finishes to our bespoke kitchen cabinetry. As a key member of our production team, you will be responsible for preparing and sanding polyurethane-finished surfaces to exacting standards, ensuring our products meet the premium quality expectations our customers demand. This role is essential to maintaining Timpelle Kitchens' reputation for excellence in the carpentry and cabinet-making industry.
Key responsibilities
Operating and maintaining polyurethane sanding equipment safely and efficiently, following all health and safety protocols
Preparing cabinet surfaces and components for sanding, including cleaning and inspection to identify any defects or imperfections
Sanding polyurethane-finished kitchen cabinetry and components using appropriate grit progression to achieve smooth, professional finishes
Inspecting finished work to ensure compliance with quality standards and identifying areas requiring rework or additional attention
Maintaining accurate records of work completed and materials used
Collaborating with other team members to ensure efficient workflow and timely project completion
Conducting routine maintenance and cleaning of sanding equipment to ensure optimal performance
Following all workplace safety procedures and participating in continuous improvement initiatives
What we're looking for
Proven experience as a polyurethane sander or similar role within carpentry and cabinet-making environments
Comprehensive understanding of sanding techniques, grit progression, and finishing standards for polyurethane applications
Strong attention to detail with the ability to identify and correct surface imperfections
Competency in operating handheld and stationary sanding equipment safely and effectively
Knowledge of health and safety procedures, particularly regarding dust control and chemical handling in finishing applications
Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced production environment
Good time management and organisational skills to meet production deadlines
Physical capability to perform repetitive sanding work and lift materials as required
Willingness to maintain high standards of workmanship and contribute to continuous quality improvement
Current or ability to obtain relevant safety certifications and qualifications as required
