About the role
This is a hands-on production role operating thermal laminating equipment used in the manufacture of high-quality flexible packaging. You will set up and operate thermal laminating equipment, laminate a range of flexible packaging films and substrates, and maintain high standards of safety, quality and productivity.
Key responsibilities
Set up and operate thermal laminating equipment
Laminate a range of flexible packaging films and substrates
Set and monitor temperature, pressure, tension and machine speeds
Ensure correct web alignment and tension throughout production
Complete machine setup and job changeovers efficiently
Inspect laminated material for defects and ensure finished product meets specifications
Monitor bond quality and overall laminate appearance
Troubleshoot laminating and web-handling issues
Minimise setup waste, production waste and downtime
Accurately complete production and quality documentation
About you
Previous experience operating laminating or converting machinery
Experience within flexible packaging, printing or film converting
Good understanding of flexible films and web-fed materials
Experience with web tension and roll-to-roll machinery
Strong mechanical aptitude
Good troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
Excellent attention to detail
A strong focus on quality and productivity
Ability to work independently and as part of a production team
A reliable and positive attitude
