As part of the Reymond Group family, Village Wine Bar is joined by L'Hotel Gitan in Prahran, Bistro Gitan in South Yarra and Frederic in Cremorne, in the Group portfolio.

About you

You will have an understanding and respect for high quality food and exceptional standards of service. You'll be responsible for managing daily shift operations, demonstrating outstanding leadership and teamwork skills, and thriving in a fast-paced environment where no two shifts are the same.

We are seeking a career-focused candidate who is looking to progress with us as our Group continues to evolve and grow.

Skills, Experience & Attributes

• Have extensive knowledge of food. Experience in Italian and European cuisine will be favourable.

• Have experience managing a team of floor staff and successfully running shifts

• Be a good communicator and be able to manage interactions between back and front of house

• Assist the Restaurant Manager in their control of stock, beverage program, training, development and venue presentation

• Ensure high levels of customer service, exceeding customer expectations and building personal rapport with our extensive cohort of regular guests

• Be hands on and confident in making autonomous decisions

• Have a high level of organisational and time management skills

• Be adaptable and able to perform under pressure in a high volume setting

• Keen interest and expansive knowledge of wine. WSET qualifications will be favourable, but not essential

• Confidence hosting busy services, managing walk-ins, successfully flipping tables on time, and maximising the floor plan during the busy and unpredictable summer period. Experience in SevenRooms will be favourable

• Work cooperatively with the Group senior management team

• Have a minimum 2+ years in a similar role
